The Skilled Migrant Internship Program – Accounting (SMIPA) is designed to assist accounting graduates gain employment in their chosen career, as well as give eligibility for 10 migration points towards permanent residence. This initiative was implemented in response to concerns that many recent graduates experienced difficulties in gaining employment within the accounting industry. The Program and its content have been determined in consultation with CPA Australia; Institute of Chartered Accountants and National Institute of Accountants. Within the program there are classroom delivered components as well as a professional internship.   The Program Business Communications Australian Work Practices Professional Internship (Work Experience) for 12 weeks Professional training specific to the industry 44 weeks as gazetted by DIAC
