
Engineers Australia Professional Year in Engineering
The Engineers Australia Professional Year in Engineering program was developed by Engineering Education Australia (EEA) to equip international graduates of Australian universities with the skills and experience they need to start a successful career. The program consists of training and an engineering internship placement to provide a pathway from study to employment in Australia.

- 44 weeks as gazetted by DIAC

- Professional Australian engineering internship (work experience) for 12 weeks
General Skilled Migration
The Professional Year Program is approved by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) , which means on successful completion you are eligible for migration points towards permanent residence.
Entry requirements
To qualify for the Engineers Australia Professional Year in Engineering Program, you must have:
- completed an undergraduate or postgraduate award in Australia in engineering
- applied for or hold the 485 Skilled Graduate Visa (SGV)
- evidence of a minimum of IELTS 6.0 in all bands
- a valid skills assessment from Engineering Education Australia
- Offshore university graduates may be eligible to complete the Professional Year in Engineering on a 476 visa. For further information visit the Engineering Australia Education website.
