Australian Computer Society (ACS) Professional Year Program
The Australian Computer Society (ACS) Professional Year Program was developed by ACS to give international ICT graduates from Australian universities the skills and training they need to start their career. The program consists of training and an IT internship placement to provide a pathway from study to employment in Australia.
Program structure
- 44 weeks as gazetted by DIAC
- Professional training specific to the industry
- Australian work practices
- Business communications
- Professional Australian ICT internship (work experience) for 12 weeks
Skilled Migration
The Professional Year Program is approved by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), which means on successful completion you are eligible for migration points towards permanent residence.
Entry Requirements
To qualify for the ACS Professional Year Program, you must have:
- completed an undergraduate or postgraduate award in Australia in ICT
- applied for or hold the 485 Skilled Graduate Visa (SGV)
- evidence of a minimum of IELTS 6.0 in all bands
- a valid skills assessment from the ACS
